Question of the Week?

Is gold-digging a fair term? Or is it that some women look for security in the financial status of a man?

Thoughts?

If a man is looking for a woman that had certain physical features is he a "body-digger"?

I think it depends on what the woman is bringing to the table, and what exactly she's looking for. Does she want a man who has a certain level of financial success to insure her quality of life? Does she want him to have money to casually spend on her? Does she want the man to have this money because she has her own and doesn't want to have to worry about "carrying" a man? And if she is looking for a man to just casually spend his money on her, and he's willing to do it, is anything really wrong with that on her part?

No woman wants to be with a man who is not on the same level as her at the least. that is first of all... but yes a woman is well within her rights to make sure that before she gets serious with a man that he is very financially stable. there are various reasons for this:

-In this day couples have to be proactive and planners. with layoffs happening left and right, what if one of the two is laid off? will he or she be able to financially cover the family on one income?

-what if the woman wants to be a stay at home mom? if this is her goal then that needs to be discussed bc of course it will require one income on behalf of the man.
-some women are just literally turned on by a driven and successful man. as a result they are drawn to men who usually make more money as a result of this drive.. they may look like a gold digger but i promise the ones i know who just simply think men with drive are sexy have their own empires they have going on themselves. ;-P yes i am one of these women thank you very much!!! LOL

In closing... the one thing i personally do not agree with is a woman who aint on a darn thing and wants her man to have alot... thats just me... i was raised by a single mother and grandmother and all i know is to take care and prrovide for self.. but when you pray and believe to meet a man who actually volunteers to give you the world then that is reason enough to wait on who God has for you anyway and not worry about a man providing financial security. any fool can serve (drugs)on the block or do mortgage fraud to buy you things.. i would not expect someone to provide for me if i was not working in some capacity (full time mother, voluteering, ministry, entrepeur-something!) i will never understand how some women dont do anything at all but watch oprah and eat bon-bons...sorry
